The Café

The Axiom Café can meet all your coffee needs.  We have a full espresso bar and smoothie station.  Whether you’re looking for some cool refreshment, like a blended mocha, or want to warm up with a  caramel macchiatto, the café is where you want to go.  There are also a couple signature drinks like blended sodas, or the ever-popular Skittle Smoothie.  Food options range from candy bars to hot pockets, and everything in between.  Come thirsty and hungry, get some deliciousness from the café and hang out for a while.

Homework Area

There is an area for you and your friends to get your work done.  We all know that sometimes it is hard to get things done.  With so many things going on at home, it might be easier to just come in, sit down, and go to work.  We have desks and tables reserved just for students that want to get some homework done.  There are also computers available for typing up papers or doing research on.  Sometimes a volunteer can help you if you need it, so don’t be afraid to ask.  We can also reserve tables for you if you want to bring a group of friends and work on a group project together.

In the future, we are planning to offer tutors on a regular basis.  We are also planning on offering workshops to help you improve your skills as a student to help you as you move into your future.

Front Desk

Sign up for an Axiom card when you first arrive.  You will need to show us your school I.D. to prove that you are in 7th-12th grade.  Then, each time you come to the AXIOM, you just show us your card, and we’ll scan you in.  We do this every day for a couple of reasons.  The main reason is safety.  Since all of our volunteers are out of high school, we make sure that they have been live scanned during the application process.  You can know that everyone working at the AXIOM has gone through an application process including the background check, and every student that is in AXIOM is actually a student.  We also like to keep you safe by double checking your face with the picture in the computer to make sure no one else is using your card.  The Axiom is a safe place where you can be known.

Billiards

With a full size pool table, the fun never quits.  But with 2 full size pool tables, the fun really never quits.  We’ve got 2 full size pool tables with standard weight billiards balls.  These aren’t cheap imitations.  This is real pool. So bring your game.  If the volunteer Tim is there, he can show you a thing or two about how to really play well.  And every so often we even have a pool tournament, so keep your eyes open and your skills sharp.

Game Room

The game room features something for everyone.  There are four linked XBox 360’s that feature games like Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4.  All 16 controllers are wireless, and the games are on a rotating schedule that you can find at the Rental Desk.  Here is where you check out controllers.  We also have a Nintendo Wii with 4 controller/nun chucks to play games like Super Smash Bros Brawl and Guitar Hero.  There are also 2 foosball tables and an air hockey table.  If you came to the AXIOM with a backpack or a skateboard or anything you don’t want to carry around with you, we have the AXIOM Lockers where you can check your stuff in with a volunteer that will keep your stuff safe while you hang out.
